Pediatric neurosurgery is a subspecialty of neurosurgery that focuses on the surgical treatment of neurological conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.
This includes conditions such as brain tumors, hydrocephalus, spinal cord tumors, and craniofacial abnormalities. Pediatric neurosurgeons are trained to use specialized techniques and equipment to ensure the best possible outcomes for their young patients. They work closely with pediatricians, neurologists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive care for children with neurological conditions.
The diagnosis of pediatric neurological disorders is based on a thorough review of your child's history and symptoms. There are times when specific tests are needed, such as electroencephalography (EEG) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Brain Tumor Surgery: Surgery to remove brain tumors in children, including tumors of the cerebellum, brainstem, and cerebral hemispheres.

Spinal Cord Tumor Surgery: Surgery to remove tumors of the spinal cord, such as astrocytomas and ependymomas.
Craniosynostosis Surgery: Surgery to correct cranial deformities caused by premature fusion of the skull bones.
Epilepsy Surgery: Surgery to treat epilepsy by removing the specific area of the brain that is causing seizures.
Pediatric Trauma: Surgery to treat injuries to the head and spine, such as skull fractures, brain contusions, and spinal cord injuries.
